I am here to tell you that immortality and the resurrection of the dead is something we have received through Jesus’ first coming on the cross, not through His second coming.

The resurrection of the dead is not something that is unusual or uncommon to born-again believers, who have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead living inside of them. If it seems unusual, it is because we are just out of the loop! We simply don’t realize the very power living inside of us. Power to raise the dead is a normal, everyday thing for us.

Most Christians will admit that physical death was a curse placed on Adam for his sin (Romans 8:10). And yet, most Christians also believe that everyone has “their time” to die, and our loving Father “calls us all home” at one point or another. If you didn’t know, those are just fancy ways of referring to death. So I’m confused. Is death a curse placed on lawbreakers or is it some beautiful finale that God appoints, even to His children?

In Christ, all believers have the same thing, through the same cross. None of us differ in the grace that we have received from God, because we received it through the same payment. And while that is true, while we are growing, we don’t all play the same role, not in this world, in a family, or a ministry. God has us perform different jobs so that we are not all doing the same thing (1 Corinthians 12:4-7). And in these various structures that God has set forth, there will be authority figures for us to submit to, but there’s a right way to do that.

Recently we’ve been talking about two groups of people. There are those who believe and are growing in the same truth that you are. God says to never forsake assembling with these people. On the other hand, there are people who are not willing to hear the truth. After being given ample opportunity, the Bible says to shake the dust off your feet and move on. People without Jesus need constant “escapes from reality.” They try to drown out the reality of their world with things like drugs, alcohol, parties, TV, video games, vacations, and even sleep. They are happiest when they are not remembering the real world, but for a believer, it’s all the contrary. We are happiest when our eyes are opened to our world.

Since Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God had been teaching the Jewish people the gospel. One of the manifestations of their belief in the gospel was God’s promise that they would inherit the land of Canaan. God had been speaking this promise to them for generations, and when the Jews were enslaved by Pharaoh, God raised up Moses and Aaron to reiterate this promise to the Jews once again, and to deliver them from their slavery to Pharaoh, in a trajectory toward Canaan, the land of promise.

In our last part, we saw that aging, hurt, and weakness is just corruption that came into the world because of Adam’s sin. Everyone was initially born of Adam, and because everyone was born into his sin, they were also born into this corruption. But all of this is old news for a believer. Most Christians overlook the fact that Jesus cleansed us of the very sin which is the root of corruption. Now He gave us His righteousness instead, which only causes life to our bodies!

In the first part, we explained that all transformation that we personally receive from God is a progression, that keeps pace with what we’ve seen of Jesus thus far. As we grow in our knowledge of Jesus, the transformation increases to our flesh (2 Peter 1:2). So, what about instantaneous healings? Because not only is the Bible full of them, but of course, it’s the will of God for you to be healed and transformed as quickly as possible.

When people see Jesus, the apostles, or even another minister laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover instantly, some people might get the wrong impression, that if their healing or transformation doesn’t look like that, then it’s not legitimate, or it’s not happening. In the first part, we established that the leading of the Holy Spirit is not simply the Spirit speaking instruction into your mind. It is the Spirit actually doing the thing through you. That is the leading of the Holy Spirit. But when God does things through you, He doesn’t just act them out, giving you the strength and performance through your body. He also puts the desire in your heart for it.
