The Bible describes the Lord as being both young and ancient. So, which one is it? Well, it’s both, if we have some clues about what the word “youth” really means.

As believers, the Bible says that we are so much like Jesus now, on the inside of us, that when we look at Jesus it’s like looking in a mirror. In fact, Jesus is referred to as our Mirror.

Most people, including believers, believe that advancing in years means corruption for their bodies, but this isn’t true at all. Your years are not the problem in the slightest. God doesn’t want to make you younger in years. Think about how many years God has been around, and I’m pretty sure He’s doing wonderfully well.

In our last part, we saw that aging, hurt, and weakness is just corruption that came into the world because of Adam’s sin. Everyone was initially born of Adam, and because everyone was born into his sin, they were also born into this corruption. But all of this is old news for a believer. Most Christians overlook the fact that Jesus cleansed us of the very sin which is the root of corruption. Now He gave us His righteousness instead, which only causes life to our bodies!

Most believers walk around talking about aging just like the world does. They talk about it like it’s part of their nature to age, but Jesus stripped that from you the day you were cleansed of sin.

If you didn’t know, everlasting life is not a reference to heaven; not at all. In the church today, everlasting life has been defined as “going to heaven” or even “having a relationship with God.” But if we look at what the Bible says, neither are true.

Sometimes we have family members, friends, and people close to us that either don’t choose Jesus or refuse large portions of the gospel. It is inevitable that certain people are just not open right now to certain truths. Be that as it may, God has provided something special for you and wants you to enjoy it, regardless of what decisions other people are making.

In the first part, we explained that all transformation that we personally receive from God is a progression, that keeps pace with what we’ve seen of Jesus thus far. As we grow in our knowledge of Jesus, the transformation increases to our flesh (2 Peter 1:2). So, what about instantaneous healings? Because not only is the Bible full of them, but of course, it’s the will of God for you to be healed and transformed as quickly as possible.
(more…)Length: 5 minutes
When people see Jesus, the apostles, or even another minister laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover instantly, some people might get the wrong impression, that if their healing or transformation doesn’t look like that, then it’s not legitimate, or it’s not happening. But the Bible says otherwise.

In our last part, we saw that God performs things through us and also desires them through us. Philippians 2 says that God works in us to will and to do. That is the true leading of the Holy Spirit.
(more…)Length: 4 minutes
In the first part, we established that the leading of the Holy Spirit is not simply the Spirit speaking instruction into your mind. It is the Spirit actually doing the thing through you. That is the leading of the Holy Spirit. But when God does things through you, He doesn’t just act them out, giving you the strength and performance through your body. He also puts the desire in your heart for it.
(more…)Length: 4 minutes
When many Christians hear the term, “the leading of the Holy Spirit,” they associate this with the Lord telling them where to go and what to do. The funny thing is, mere instructions or guidance from the Lord is not what He means when He speaks of the “leading of the Holy Spirit.”

Christians tend to be very family oriented, which is a good thing, because we have a responsibility to our family first. But Christians also tend to think that taking joy from your physical family or friends is something of a virtue. This is simply not correct.
(more…)Length: 4 minutes
The Lord doesn’t want us to take our joy from anything that is changing. In our last part we mentioned the instability and inaccuracy of people’s opinion of us. But did you know that God doesn’t even want us to take our joy from manifestations of the Holy Spirit? That may sound strange, but it’s absolutely true.
(more…)Length: 3 minutes
Do you know why people’s rejection takes such a toll on us sometimes? It’s because many of us trust in people’s opinion of us when they are accepting us. We value their opinion so much when they compliment us. And so, when people reject us or criticize us, we have trained our mind to value a man’s opinion of our worth.

There are a lot of different labels that people can give to what is perceived as the aftermath of something traumatic happening. I believe that the biggest reason why the emotional effects of an event linger with people for years, is because they have yet to be given a solution to that initial problem. They have yet to be given an answer to that initial question. And so, when life hits them with a problem, and to this day they still don’t have a resolution, the emotional effects linger. Thank God, there is an easy solution in Jesus.

I’m sure you’ve heard about “Paul’s thorn in the flesh” that is mentioned in 2 Corinthians 12. Even unbelievers will use the phrase “a thorn in my flesh” or “a thorn in my side” for things that are annoying or irritating. But this passage of scripture has been so terribly misinterpreted, and God has been accused of some atrocities that He never committed because of it.

It is awesome to know that, as believers, we can be given knowledge and foresight by God’s Spirit inside of us. God can literally put His own thoughts into our minds. And while that is a reality, not every thought that pops into your head is God.

We’re told that the bad feeling you get inside after you do something wrong is just the conviction of the Holy Spirit trying to steer you right. But that feeling doesn’t come from the Holy Spirit at all. It comes from your conscience! The church has mixed up the Holy Spirit with their conscience for a very long time.
(more…)Length: 8 minutes
When Christians feel rotten inside after they sin, if they don’t call it the conviction of the Holy Spirit (which is incorrect), they will at least feel that it is a sign of a healthy conscience. After all, if we do something wrong, shouldn’t we feel grief and hurt as a repercussion?

In the book of Numbers, the people of Israel were bitten by serpents. So, God commanded Moses to make a brass serpent on a pole. And when the people looked upon that serpent on a pole, they lived, being healed from their serpent bite. In John chapter 3, Jesus says that the serpent on that pole represented Him on the cross. But why is Jesus represented as a serpent? Well, there is much deeper symbolism here, but let’s put it plainly:

In the Bible, Paul advises Timothy to “prove” leaders, before giving them a position within the church (1 Timothy 3:10). This just means that we should test people to make sure they agree with us and that they’re bearing the right fruit before giving them a position of leadership within the church. That just makes sense.

But what if you’ve already gotten into a romantic relationship with someone that you know is not saved, or you have realized that you don’t believe the same things about Jesus?
(more…)Length: 6 minutes
We’ve been talking about unity in the faith, when it comes to romantic relationships, but what if you love each other? What if you get along great? What if you can speak about Jesus with this person and they receive it? All these things are not what is important to a unified marriage.
(more…)I want to assure you that if you desire to get married one day, the Lord has the right person in mind for you. We need to be assured that the Lord can add a godly spouse to us. When we don’t believe that we can trust the Lord with something, that’s the time when we take things into our own hands and force an issue. But I assure you, if you desire a marriage relationship, the Lord is ready, willing, and able, through the sacrifice of Jesus, to add someone to you.
(more…)Sometimes believers feel concerned about their effectiveness in sharing the gospel, because there’s a lot they don’t know yet. But you don’t need to know everything, by far, to effectively minister a gospel that can save someone and cause them to receive from God!

These days, most Bible schools end up turning out students that can quote a lot of books, philosophies, methods of Bible interpretation, and “tenants of faith”, but are as confused as ever, because they’re not being taught the simplicity of what Jesus has done for them. We end up getting so caught up in the specific biblical prophecies, principles, and concepts themselves, rather than simply seeing the One they’re pointing to.

We’ve never really liked the word “theology.” For those that don’t know, that would mean “the study of God.” If you get to know your wife, you wouldn’t call it “wife-ology.” Because you have a relationship with her and you’re just getting to know her. The same thing with your kids or anyone that you love.

With our mind, with our meditation, with our constant thinking on something, we can magnify whatever we want in our head. God just wants to make sure that you’re magnifying the correct thing.
