I believe that the biggest reason why the emotional effects of an event linger with people for years, is because they have yet to be given a solution to that initial problem. They have yet to be given an answer to that initial question. And so, when life hits them with a problem, and to this day they still don’t have a resolution, the emotional effects linger. Thank God, there is an easy solution in Jesus.

And when the people looked upon that serpent on a pole, they lived, being healed from their serpent bite. In John chapter 3, Jesus says that the serpent on that pole represented Him on the cross.
