Help Is Not On The Way… He Already Came.

Length: 8 minutes

In the church today it’s much more common for someone to say, “The Lord will provide“ than it is for them to say, “The Lord already provided.“ It’s much more common to say, “The Lord always shows up right on time“ than it is for them to say, “The Lord already showed up.“ That’s because we don’t realize, the cross already did what we’re asking God to do.

Jesus already finished everything… literally everything. The church mainly sees the cross as something applicable to their initial salvation. When you hear people talk about the cross, they’re usually talking about when they were forgiven of sins and saved. They feel that Jesus came and finished a certain work against sin, but they don’t believe that Jesus came to finish every single problem on this earth.

Jesus Already Finished It

I won’t take the time to teach this thoroughly, but a quick way I use to show that Jesus finished every problem in the world is this: Romans 5:12 says clearly that the only two problems that came into this world, through Adam, were sin and death. Those are the only two problems in this world. Every problem you’ve ever gone through can be categorized under either sin or death. See our “Exit Earth” article for more on that.

When Jesus came to this earth, what did He do? He died for sins! In other words, He took sin and death – the problems of the world (Romans 8:2). That was Jesus carrying the world’s problems in His own body so that you would not have to carry them in yours. In short, that’s how Jesus overcame the world (John 16:33).

There is nothing you have gone through or ever will go through that Jesus did not already finish. There’s nothing your loved ones go through that Jesus has not already finished. This is why you can use the past tense for how God solved your problem.

God provided for your finances, healed your body, set you free from sin, gave you understanding, loosed you from the devil, became resurrection for the physically dead, and even provided you the makings of a new, young, glorified body that looks like Jesus.

Yes, all these things are in the past tense. They’re not coming. They came. One simple way to know this is, Jesus is never going to pay another price again. If He was going to purchase some freedom or power for you, He better have done it already because He’s not going to die again (Romans 6:10).

This is why the Bible says we were healed (past tense).

1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV) …by whose stripes you were healed.

Death has been abolished (past tense). And yes, that’s physical death, which is why Jesus physically died to fulfill it (Romans 8:10-11).

2 Timothy 1:10 (NKJV) …our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel…

Jesus became (past tense) the curse of the law, which includes sickness, disease, inability to get wealth, and death (Deuteronomy 28).

Galatians 3:13 (NKJV) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us…

Funny enough, this is why more times than not, the Bible will say that God “loved you” rather than saying He “loves you” (Galatians 2:20). Of course, God always loves you in His heart, but that love was demonstrated one time in the past, by providing everything for you at the cross. So, even His demonstration of love is in the past tense! It’s been accomplished!

The reason the verses above are all in the past tense is not because everyone has received those things. They are in the past tense because, on God’s end, He already paid and provided for them by Jesus’ death on the cross. On His end, He’s already done what He needs to do. Even if no one received it, everything is still finished. It’s paid for and waiting for someone to believe it. Help is not coming. Help already came.

The reason the church, almost exclusively uses the present or future tense for God’s provision is because they’re not aware that Jesus finished everything at the cross. You’ll hear a lot of, “God always provides for His children. God won’t let you down. God is faithful to come through for you,” and while there may be a small context in which those things are accurate (more later), those things are incorrect if you think God is providing for you as you go. No, God provided for you before you were ever born. Now, people are merely believing what Jesus did to receive these things into their life. But it was already provided at the cross.

Believers Have Already It

But it goes a step further. For a Christian, who has already believed in Jesus, not only did Jesus already provide these things, but you have already received it! More past tense!

Jesus provided everything to the whole world, but when you first believe, God’s power and solution to every problem comes to live inside of you. You received (past tense) the victory that overcomes the whole world (1 John 5:4).

For a Christian, you have been (past tense) blessed with every blessing.

Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV) …who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ…

God has (past tense) given you all things that pertain to life (health, strength) and godliness (pure thoughts, actions). You have already (past tense) escaped the corruption (death, decay) and the lust in this world.

2 Peter 1:3-4 (NKJV) …His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness… having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

You already have your heavenly inheritance (Ephesians 1:18). You already have the power that raises the dead (Ephesians 1:20). You already have the power that gives life to human bodies (Romans 8:11). To cut to the chase, you already have everything Jesus has (1 John 4:17).

People may choke on this, so listen to “The Revealing” teaching for more, but you even have the makings of your glorified body — not in physical form, but the glory for your new, young, strong, good-looking body, living inside you now. It just needs to be manifested and voilà! Perfect body, in the image of Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18).

[[Double brackets are my own words]]

2 Corinthians 5:4-5 (LSV) …the mortal may be swallowed up of life [[glorified body]]. 5 And He who worked us [[already did the work in us]] to this very thing [is] God, who also gave to us the deposit of the Spirit;

Jesus has provided these things to the world, but they live inside of every believer. The only thing left is for us to realize it and manifest it out of us (John 7:38).

The grace that God already (past tense) gave you is sufficient to take care of anything you go through today. This is why, when Paul was being persecuted by someone the devil sent, Paul kept crying out to God to do something, but God replied, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9). In other words, what I’ve already given is sufficient for this problem. You don’t need to ask me for more. You have the solution! Believe it and manifest it in your life!

This is the same grace that manifests to add finances (2 Corinthians 9:8). It’s the same grace that gives us rest (1 Corinthians 15:10). It’s already here. It’s already sufficient. You can stop asking God for more.

Closing: The Present And Future Tense

Unfortunately, this article is more of a “sampler” of these truths. There’s so much more proof.

Think about this: God already thought about that thing you need and sent Jesus to provide it. And that thing lives in you today. Wow! If the Church understood this, we would use the past tense a lot more than we do, because it’s all done.

So, is there anything that happening in the present tense or in the future? The only two things are:

  1. You are realizing what Jesus did
  2. God is manifesting it from within you, as you realize

You could say, “I am” getting to know what Jesus did. God “is” manifesting it through me. That would be accurate. We’re in the process of realizing the gifts Jesus gave so the Spirit can produce them out of us, but it’s already here.

You don’t need something fresh. You have every blessing.
You don’t need the victory. Jesus already overcame.
God isn’t coming through. He already came through.
God won’t give you the grace. What He gave is sufficient.
Help is not on the way. Your help already came!

The only thing God wants is for your eyes to be enlightened to the things you already have through Jesus. If you do that, it will all come out into your life, but your problem is finished and your answer is inside of you.

Ephesians 1:18-19 (NKJV) the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know… the glory of His inheritance in the saints
