BUYING/SPENDING MONEY

Definition:

Used synonymously with labor, work.

Scripture:

Isaiah 55:1-2 (KJV)  Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

• The Sabbath is a day of rest and you can’t buy/sell on the Sabbath

Nehemiah 10:31, 13:16 (KJV)  And if the people of the land bring ware (merchandise) or any victuals (grain) on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.  Chapter 13, Verse 16:  There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. 17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

• Also, in Genesis 43:11-12 it’s symbolically prophesied that in the last days the Jews will attempt to earn the gift of God with the “best fruit of the land in their vessels” (the best works of their flesh). They are also said to “offer money” for the gift of God.
