If you’ve been around some good teaching about healing, you’ve likely heard 1 Peter 2:24 quoted. It says that by Jesus’ stripes you “were” healed (past tense). This is a powerful truth, but I don’t believe most people understand what it means to have been healed in the past, even when their body is still sick or hurting.

In our last part, we showed that Jesus delivered us from everything we could be afraid of. Therefore, if we are still afraid, we are only afraid because of what we’re not seeing of Jesus’ provision. That is a universal truth that applies to every person, in every situation. You are not the exception. People only fear because of what they’re not seeing about Jesus. That is the only source (Isaiah 26:3).

We’ve spoken a lot about how Jesus makes us righteous, blameless, and free from guilt (Colossians 1:22). I would encourage you to get a thorough training in those truths. But sometimes, even when you know these things, if you do something wrong, you still have a nagging negative emotion. What is that?
