The Transformation Process – Part 2: Instantaneous?

Length: 6 minutes

In the first part, we explained that all transformation that we personally receive from God is a progression, that keeps pace with what we’ve seen of Jesus thus far. As we grow in our knowledge of Jesus, the transformation increases to our flesh (2 Peter 1:2). So, what about instantaneous healings? Because not only is the Bible full of them, but of course, it’s the will of God for you to be healed and transformed as quickly as possible.

When you read about instantaneous healing in the Bible, see an instantaneous healing in someone at your church, or have experienced it yourself, the truth is, that doesn’t contradict the idea of “progressive transformation” at all. That person wasn’t transformed fully when they were healed of some ailment all at once. A particular sickness, handicap, or disorder might have been resolved, and praise God for that, that’s His will, but they weren’t instantly transformed. Their body, I’m sure, is still mortal and still has plenty of room for transformation. They are still being transformed in a process, from glory to glory. Sometimes transformation just takes more noticeable leaps than at other times because our knowledge is so.

The point is, sometimes we can see the transformation more visibly when there is enough manifested at a time. Then it is visible to the naked eye, but it’s still progressive transformation. And whether you are healed quick enough to see the difference with your naked eye or not, the power of God is still increasing in you regardless, if you’re keeping your eyes on Jesus!

Perhaps God shows you something about Jesus that is just what you needed to hear, and that causes enough visible manifestation for you to notice it. Praise God for that! God could even remind you of something that you already know, and you see instantaneous change in an area from just a reminder. That has happened in my life. But it does not delegitimize your receiving if you can’t see the transformation that is truly going on.

If you’re growing in your knowledge of Him, you are in fact, increasing in the power of God. That’s a truth that cannot be broken. Otherwise, God is a liar because He told you that as you behold Jesus you are being (not “might be”) transformed from glory to glory, by the Spirit. And that’s a fact, whether the transformation is visible to your eyes or not.

Another reason why healings or manifestations can more frequently take greater leaps at a time, is when someone else is praying for someone. The person that’s praying may have knowledge that the other person does not, or may be more mature in a particular area, or simply be more mature in a different area than the other person. And so, the person being prayed for is receiving with the help of the other person’s knowledge. So greater leaps in transformation can clearly happen in someone when you are receiving with the help of someone else’s knowledge.

The point is, everyone receives by the knowledge of Jesus. Sometimes the Lord gives you revelation or a reminder that produces a visible leap in your flesh. Sometimes, you’re getting help in your transformation, receiving through the aid of the knowledge of someone else. But it’s all through knowledge, and it’s all in a progression. Some of it is just more visible than other parts of it.

The thing for you to know is God wants you healed, whole, and transformed today. Not later. Today. And you can, in fact, receive transformation for any area, today. You can have your body healed today, you can have wisdom given to you today, you can have transformation today. God is able to give you knowledge so that you can receive today. The day God has designated for you to receive Jesus’ finished work (His rest) is today (Hebrews 4:7).

The point I am making in the series is not that you can’t see noticeable, abrupt change in your flesh. God wants you to receive as quickly as possible. It is His will, that today you enter His provision, not tomorrow. All I am saying is that, if at any point you don’t see visible, noticeable change in your flesh, that doesn’t mean it’s not happening. It doesn’t mean it’s not legitimate transformation. If you are beholding Jesus, and who you are in Him, you are being transformed from glory to glory.

You don’t have to expect your receiving for a particular area to take long (that’s not God’s will) but you also don’t have to be discouraged if the change is not noticeable all at once. The point is, you’re being transformed from glory to glory as you learn Jesus from faith to faith. Whether that progression of glory is noticeable to you or not. It’s all legitimate transformation, if you are beholding Jesus, and who you are in Him. That is the only factor.

If I were to put it in terms of how Jesus healed a particular blind man, I would say, “God wants you to be healed right now, but due to our knowledge, sometimes you see trees before you see men. But if you stick with the true Jesus, you will see clearly.” What I mean is, “Sometimes your transformation looks like more of a progression than at other times, but if you stick with the true Jesus, you’ll see the full extent of it soon enough.”

Mark 8:23-25 (NKJV) So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.”  Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.

That man didn’t see clearly all at once. He saw men looking like trees at first, but he stuck with Jesus and saw his full healing inevitably.

Get focused on Jesus. Get focused on what He’s speaking to you, instead of everything else. If you can check that box, you can automatically check the transformation box as well, because you’re being transformed! And if you continue with your eyes on Jesus, you will see the glory of God manifested in your flesh (John 11:40).

If this blessed you, share this with someone else. More people need to understand this awesome truth.
