What’s So Different About RC?

The Lord has taught us so many awesome truths. Much of it is just not what you’re hearing today!

Obedience

Tradition says: Obedience entails us acting upon anything that God tells us to do, which varies day to day.

Reform Church has realized: Obeying God does not entail your actions or you living for Him in any way. There is one obedience and that is to learn and believe what Jesus has done. Nothing else in the New Covenant is called obedience (Rom. 1:5, Rom. 16:26, Jn. 6:29).

Judgment

Tradition says: God is still judging people today. Or at the very least, He WILL judge people for their sins when Jesus comes back, if they don’t accept Him.

Reform Church has realized: The last time God ever judged someone’s sin, He was hanging on a pole at Calvary. God will never judge another person for their sins ever again. The coming judgment is for the devil and his angels, which people can inherit through unbelief, but it is NOT their judgment. Their judgment was at the cross (Mat. 25:41, Jn 16:11).

Giving

Tradition says: When we give, there is a blessing that returns to us, because giving is a show of trust in God.

Reform Church has realized: Giving to church is wonderful, but there is absolutely nothing you can do to enact a blessing from God. We are blessed through faith in one Man’s work, not our own (Rom. 4:5, Gal. 3:9).

Blessings In Heaven

Tradition says: There will be blessings in Heaven for things we do on earth.

Reform Church has realized: The only blessings you’ll ever receive are the blessings you receive through the work of Jesus, not your works. All of those blessings are available now, not later in Heaven (Jesus already died – Rom. 4:5, Gal. 3:9).

Salvation

Tradition says: Jesus essentially died for sin to save you from hell. Though there are benefits we can receive now as well.

Reform Church has realized: We are saved from hell, but Jesus actually came to save us from all of this earth and all of the tribulation in it. No Exceptions! (Gal. 1:4, Jn. 16:33, 1 Jn. 5:4).

Forgiveness

Tradition says: God loves us, so if we sin, we just confess it to Him, and He is willing to forgive us.

Reform Church has realized: We confess our sins once, before we get saved. A believer doesn’t need to ever confess his sins. Jesus died for sins forever, so once we accept His sacrifice we are eternally forgiven. When we sin, we just thank God that we are righteous through Jesus (1 Jn 1:9, Heb. 10:12, Heb. 9:12).

Eternal Life

Tradition says: Eternal life is mainly referring to spending eternity with Jesus in Heaven after we die.

Reform Church has realized: Eternal life is a power that God puts in a believer’s body, which performs through them, causing their physical body to live forever when understood fully (Jn 6:53-54, Rom. 8:11, Jn. 11:26).

The New Earth

Tradition says: We are waiting for a new earth one day, so that we can enjoy its newness.

Reform Church has realized: The present earth is actually waiting for our newness to manifest, so that it can enjoy that newness that we have (Rom. 8:19). God is going to recreate the earth with the newness that He’s already put inside of us!

Receiving From God

Tradition says: We receive from God by prayer, by being a good steward of what we own, by giving, by being in line with God ‘s will… and oh yes, by faith.

Reform Church has realized: We receive from God through knowledge of what Jesus has done on the cross. PERIOD (Rom. 12:2, Rom. 4:5, Gal. 3:9).

Wealth

Tradition says: Some people believe Jesus provided wealth. Others believe Jesus did not provide any means to physical wealth at all.

Reform Church has realized: Jesus didn’t provide physical wealth, but He did provide us the means to it. Jesus provided the POWER to wealth, which enables every believer to excessive wealth. (Deut. 8:18, Pro. 10:22)

The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit

Tradition: says Some believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit happens at salvation. Others believe it’s a second occurrence. Usually it’s defined as when you see evidence of the Holy Spirit.

Reform Church has realized: The baptism of the Holy Spirit has nothing to do with seeing evidence. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is just the cleansing by the Holy Spirit, from sin. Baptism means washing. (1 Cor. 6:11, Titus 3:5)

Living For God

Tradition says: Jesus gave up His life for us and now we devote our lives to live for Him in return.

Reform Church has realized: We’re not actually the ones expected to any living at all in the New Testament. The law proved that none of us can successfully live right for God, so now, the Holy Spirit lives through us, instead of us living for Him. (1 Cor. 15:10, Gal. 2:20, Rom. 7:6)

The Control Of God

Tradition says: God is in control. The things you see on earth are either allowed or caused by God, because He reigns over the earth.

Reform Church has realized: God is in full authority, but is not in control of the earth (two different things). He can only control things on earth to the degree that we allow Him to, through knowledge of Jesus. Heaven is fully controlled by God, but the earth is not yet (Mat. 6:10, Heb. 2:8).

Death And Life

Tradition says: Death is final, apart from an uncommon miracle of God.

Reform Church has realized: Jesus physically died so that people could physically live again, even after they’ve died (Mat. 10:8, Jn. 11:25)!
