Home Sweet Home – Part 2

Length: 2 minutes

The Spirit of God is all the good things of Heaven, coming down low, and residing inside of us. God refers to what’s inside of us as “Heaven.” Pay close attention to this verse:

Hebrews 10:34 (YLT) …knowing that ye have in yourselves a better substance in the heavens, and an enduring one.

Notice how the writer of Hebrews says that we have a “better possession in ourselves, in the heavens.“ He uses “in you” and “in the heavens” synonymously. That’s because the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21). This is not a metaphor or a figure of speech. All of the good things about Heaven above you, are now living inside of you right now. Inside of you is literally referred to as “Heaven.” Look at the comparison of these two verses:

Colossians 1:5 (NKJV) because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven…VERSE 27) …this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Again, the Bible uses the terms “in you” and “in heaven” synonymously. In the first chapter he said that there was a hope laid up for us in Heaven, and then a few verses later he says that the hope is in you!

Christians need to know this. If all they know is that they are strangers to this earth, but they don’t realize that home is within them, they will only be familiar with a feeling of not belonging. All the while, the country where they belong lives right inside of them, in the form of God‘s Spirit.

A Christian can feel the comfort of knowing that they have the place where they belong currently. And most Christians are waiting for Heaven, at least in its fullness, sometime in the future. I’m here to tell you that your Savior already tore His flesh for you to receive Heaven 2,000 years ago. Not so that you could have a “foretaste of future glory” (as some translations erroneously translate). And not so that you could sample some glorious country that you will receive in full later on. Nope, the full portion of Heaven, with no limitations, lives within you and is accessible to you as you believe (Hebrews 10:19).

Although you are a stranger to the planet you walk on, you are already in possession of the place where you belong. The familiar things like righteousness, peace, and joy are all inside of you. The familiar things of life, comfort, and no hurt are inside of you right now. No need to ever feel alone or out of place. You belong to a new country. And that country lives within you!
