If a Major League baseball player goes to a Little League game, does he feel threatened by the 7-year-old players there? Of course not. And why not? He realizes that he plays at a much higher level. He realizes he possesses much more talent and ability than those kids at the Little League game. So, envy and inferiority doesn’t even make sense. 

Even your average, unsaved, natural person feels no envy or inferiority when they feel like they’re at “the top of the food chain”, so-to-speak. When someone understands that they’re the best, that they have the most, and that no one has any better, it’s pretty easy for them to not feel any jealousy, envy, or inferiority, right?

Well, guess what? As a believer, you are that major league baseball player. And if you understood that you have the best, you have the most, and that no one has any better than what Jesus has given you, you could not possibly squeeze any envy or jealousy into your brain. 

Envy is for people that have less. Jealousy is for people that have less. Inferiority is for people that have less. You cannot feel these things unless you first receive the belief that you have less. And if you believe that, you are completely disregarding your position in Christ. 

Jesus is at the top of the food chain. And in Ephesians, it says that you’re seated with Him. That means that you are at the top of the food chain with Him. And if you believed that you were the same as Jesus, what exactly could make you feel inferior? It would be like that Major League player, at the top of his game, feeling inferior to the seven-year-olds running around on a Little League field. It just doesn’t make any sense. 

Ephesians 1:20, 2:6 (KJV) …and set him [Jesus] at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named… and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus…
